This is a very imp table which should be on the table of every Vedic Astrologer.
It has some very imp info on planetary strengths at a quick glance for any Sign.
Let’s understand why this table is imp and where it can be used.
In Jyotish a lot of importance is given to planetary placements and the strength it gains in different signs.
Jyotishi belonging to Parashari school of thought give most importance to the signs based strength for any planets placement is in the following descending order.
1. Exaltation Sign
2. Mooltrikona Sign
3. Swakshetra or own sign
4. Friends Sign.
Similarly weakness of any planet is in descending order.
1. Debilitation Sign
2. Sign opposite to Mooltrikona is a weak sign or the Planet
3. Similarly sign opposite Swakshetra sign is a weak sign.
4. Enemy sign,
This same strength is used in Varga Bala Assessment in same descending order. So we can say if a planet is in debilitation in any sign and also enemy or the Ruler of that sign, then its debilitation will be given more importance instead of enmity and this is what this table do. So instead of stressing so much on enmity we should first see if a planet is weaker by being in its debilitation sign.
E.g. let’s look at Capricorn.
Mars is considered enemy for Saturn ruler of Capricorn but at the same time Mars is exalted in Capricorn.
So what strength will you assign to Mars in Capricorn exalted or Enemy, I will let you decide upon this by yourself.
Now lets take the example of Cancer.
As we know that for moon ruler of Cancer Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn are all neutral but let’s see it thru the table is it so.
We see that Saturn gets weak in Cancer as it’s the opposite sign from Capricorn.
Similarly we see that Mars get Debilitation in Cancer as its opposite to its Exaltation Sign i.e. Capricorn, so how can we think that Mars will act as neutral power or cancer because as we said that in Varga Bala its most weak position or any planet as a placement.
Jupiter or Cancer is in its Exaltation sign so instead of taking it as neutral or Moon ruler o Cancer we will consider its exaltation power in Cancer.
Venus is only planet which works for Cancer as a neutral planet.
